The Farm Soho will present a group exhibition of new work by various artist. The exhibition DisConnect will be on view April 5th - May 10th 2014. A reception will be held Saturday, April 5th from 7-11pm.
Disconnect is an intimate survey of interpersonal relationships in contemporary society. Artists will explore how human interaction has been impacted by technology driven proxy communication - how social networks, mobile devices and ubiquitous connectivity have influenced social behavior and what this means for the future of tactile interaction. The utilization of traditional two-dimensional media challenges artist and audience to validate communication in the current social climate as well as the validity of our life on the internet- how connected or disconnected we are with one another, how tenuous or substantial are those binds, how meaningful or fleeting those relationships will be to stand the test of time? The exhibition will include several murals in the interior of the space, hanging work, as well as a public outdoor installation.
The Farm Located on 95 Spring st in Soho is a Creative Community of industry thought-leaders,designers,developers, and entrepreneurs that together have forged a unique collaorative environment promoting diversity, openness and outreach. The Exhibition will be free and open to the public Friday- Sunday 1-6
